The sidemount is an alternative diving system, a new stage of diving, where the scuba gear is placed on the sides of a diver.
The intention of the ProTec Sidemount certification course is to train the diver, he can use this type of method for mounting scuba cylinders. The sidemount diving compared to standard mount (the placement of scuba cylinders on the back of the diver), provides the possibility to place the scuba equipment alongside the diver. The Sidemount technique primarily consists of using two cylinders with two independent regulators – two independent air sources that not only increase the safety of your underwater adventure but also make you more flexible.
